But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha,
you are worried and bothered about so many things;
but only one thing is necessary,
for Mary has chosen the good part,
which shall not be
taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
Preparing for Jesus, serving Jesus and His Friends…
longing to sit
and listen to His Words
and listen to His Words
but who will get the food ready and take care of this Company?
Jesus reprimanded me~
I know I need to learn…but what is He correcting in me?
Not the work I do, but the resentment I harbor against my sister,
my judging and my pity party.
my judging and my pity party.
She has chosen the better part; she is at peace;
she is enjoying Jesus in a way that I haven’t allowed myself to.
she is enjoying Jesus in a way that I haven’t allowed myself to.
Stop, rest, listen, bask in His Teaching, His Love,
think about His Kingdom, that transcends needless worry.
Let myself love Him, serve Him with my heart more than my hands…
and listen.
and listen.
Always listen.
Jesus, I trust in You.
Help me to make the time to listen.
Help me to make the time to listen.
Help me to refocus in the face of distraction and listen through my vocation.

There's no better 'pick' than "He & I" as far as I'm concerned. Great choice!
Beautiful picture…visually and spiritually! Love it!
I like what you've done to your blog and your header is fabulous .If there is one button I'd love to put on my blog it's yours .
Poor Martha, always working never relaxing and enjoying his presence 🙁
That's a beautiful image, and what a marvelous reminder!
I'm SUCH a Martha — working myself to pieces, and then getting completely bent out of shape when no one notices.
This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible, and I always find myself nodding when it is read at Mass.
Thanks SO much for stopping by and playing along!
for a balance of the two…I know there are times to serve…I am thinking it is the attitude of my heart while I am doing the work. This has always been one of my favorites. So applicable to women isn't it?:) I loved how you shared it…always something to think about…
